Crystal Palace

The clean lines of this contemporary, elevated walled garden are offset with a relaxed and vibrant planting scheme. Restrained use of materials enhances the sense of space. A polished concrete terrace wraps around the house and reflects the interior, while access has been improved with new steps that mould seamlessly to the terrace.

A long raised, rendered planter, painted in a similar shade of grey to the terrace, creates a natural link between the house and a large raised decked sun terrace at the bottom of the garden. Cedar fencing screens and draws the eye from neighbouring houses, into the garden. Cloud pruned box, scented climbers and grey-green shrubs add evergreen structure and year round interest while perennials and bulbs add strong splashes of yellow and white attracting bees and other pollinating insects. A willow-like evergreen tree set into the deck will mature into a translucent, shimmering backdrop.

“Sarah consistently produces the very best in contemporary garden design and would always be my first choice of designer.”
